The app teaches how a form is made. A glyph is ordered Bezier strokes with a
direction, so the model holds any script. Fifteen rulings, the first slice and
the later list.

ductus

An iPad app for Apple Pencil that teaches how a form is made, and not only what it looks like.

A ductus is the order and the direction of the strokes that make a letter. This app stores that, and not an outline. Each glyph is a list of ordered strokes, and each stroke is a path of cubic Bezier segments with a direction. The app animates the strokes, then scores what you write as a variance from the stored path.

Because the model stores motion and not shape, it holds any script and any way to form a letter. Latin print comes first. Kana, hanzi, cursive and calligraphy use the same model.

The design is in docs/design.md.
